About Just Slice It

Just Slice It turns any wide or panoramic image into Instagram carousel slides, entirely in your browser. Your image is never uploaded anywhere.

How to use

Drop or click to load a JPEG or PNG.
Choose a ratio: 4:5 Portrait and 1:1 Square match Instagram's native formats. Use Custom to set the slice width as a percentage of the image.
Toggle Overlap to add a small shared strip at each cut, which makes the swipe transition feel seamless. 2–5% is usually enough.
Pick a box colour that shows up clearly against your image in the preview.
Click Get Slices to save the files, then open Instagram, create a new post, and select all the slides from your gallery in order.

Sharing on mobile

The Share slides button uses your phone's share sheet. Instagram only accepts shared files into Stories and Reels, not feed posts. For a carousel feed post, use Get Slices to save the files, then pick them from your gallery inside Instagram.

Everything runs locally using WebAssembly. No data leaves your device; there is no server, no account, and no tracking.

Overlap explained

Each slide is made slightly wider than the core slice. The extra pixels are shared with the adjacent slide, so when two slides appear side by side during the swipe animation, the image looks continuous. Instagram center-crops each slide to the display ratio, which removes the overlap from the static view while keeping the swipe seamless.
